The following are some useful travel tips on how to get to Padua and on what to do in Padua.

Getting to Padua

● By plane:
The closest airport is Venice airport “Marco Polo” www.veniceairport.it
Other nearby airports include:

Airport “Marco Polo” - Venice.
There is a shuttle service to and from Venice Airport. It takes about an hour to reach the main coach station of Padua, which is just in front of the main railway station. The city centre is within easy walking distance from the coach station, and taxis are generally available from there as well.

If you are willing to share a taxi, there is a service to and from all the above listed airports. It is very good value for money, since rates go down as the number of passengers goes up.

Airport “Antonio Canova” – Treviso.
From Treviso Airport there is a shuttle service to Padua every 30 minutes. The bus stop is on the main road, as you exit the main building just cross the road. Last bus runs at 8.30 pm, so if your flight lands in the late evening, you can only get to Padua by taxi. The tariff is approximately 70 €.
Malpensa Airport – Milan.
It takes at least four hours to get to Padua from Malpensa. The train Malpensa Express runs from Terminal 1 to Milano Cadorna railway station. The journey takes about 30 minutes.
Please remember to buy your ticket at the terminal before boarding the train.
From Milano Cadorna take the underground (green line) to reach the main railway station of Milan, Milano Centrale. It takes around 10 minutes.

There is also a shuttle service, Malpensa Shuttle, from both terminals to the main railway station of Milan, Milano Centrale. One way ticket costs 7,50 €. The journey lasts approximately an hour.
From Milano Centrale you can get a train to Padua. The journey lasts around two hours. There are trains departing from Milano Centrale at least every hour from 6 am to 9 pm.
Linate Airport – Milan.
It takes around three hours to get to Padua from Linate Airport. From Linate Airport shuttle buses run every 30 minutes to the main railway station of Milan, Milano Centrale. From Milano Centrale you can get a train to Padua (see above).
Airport “Valerio Catullo” – Verona.
From Verona Airport there is a shuttle service to the main railway station of Verona, Verona Porta Nuova, every 20 minutes. From Verona Porta Nuova it takes less than two hours to reach Padua by train.
Airport “Guglielmo Marconi” – Bologna.
From Bologna Airport there is a shuttle service (Aerobus) to the main railway station of Bologna, Bologna Centrale, every 15 minutes. The journey lasts approximately 20 minutes and tickets can be purchased on board. One way ticket costs 6,00 €.
From Bologna Centrale you can reach Padua by train. The journey lasts approximately an hour and a half and there are regular trains departing to Padua every hour.

Once you reach Padua, as you exit the main building of the railway station, you’ll find regular buses and tram running to the city centre. Taxis stop just outside the railway station as well.
Anyway, if you prefer to have a walk, conference venues and most hotels are within easy walking distance from the railway station.
● By coach:
The main coach station is just in front of the main railway station, which is within easy walking distance from all conference venues and hotels.


Getting around in Padua

All conference venues are within walking distance from all the recommended hotels and from the city centre.
Bikes are very popular in Padua. A bike hire centre is in front of the railway station.

Cultural attractions

The Tourist Information Office is located in the main building of the railway station. There you’ll find maps of Padua, information and leaflets in different languages.
