Lorna Carson

Lorna Carson is Lecturer in Applied Linguistics at the Centre for Language and Communication Studies, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Lorna Carson holds a B.A. (Hons), M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Trinity College Dublin, and an M.A. from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium). She took her M.Phil. (2003) and Ph.D. (2006) in Applied Linguistics at the Centre for Language and Communication Studies, TCD, where she was appointed as a permanent lecturer in Applied Linguistics in 2007. Her research interests and teaching responsibilities include language learner autonomy (particularly in relation to curriculum design), immigration and multilingualism. She is also the coordinator of Trinity College's Institution-Wide Language Programme, and is responsible for the university's English language support programme for postgraduate students.
