All topics related to learner corpus research based on any language are welcome. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Language for Academic Purposes;
  • Language for Specific Purposes;
  • Language Teaching, Assessment and Testing;
  • Learner corpus-based SLA studies;
  • Corpora as pedagogical resources;
  • Multimodal learner corpora;
  • Software for learner corpus analysis;
  • Corpus-based translation studies;
  • English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI);
  • English as a Lingua Franca (ELF);
  • Data mining and other explorative approaches to learner corpora;
  • Statistical methods in learner corpus studies.

There will be four different categories of presentation:
- Full paper (20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion)
- Work in Progress (WiP) report (10 minutes + 5 minutes for discussion)
- Corpus/software demonstration
- Poster
The WiP reports and posters are intended to present research still at a preliminary stage and on which researchers would like to get feedback. The language of the conference is English.

COMPETITIONS
Did you know that there will be a competition for the best single-authored full paper given by a PhD student? If you are both a PhD student and an LCA member, and if you're presenting a single-authored full paper, you can participate in the competition. Remember to indicate that you are interested when submitting your abstract in EasyChair. Click here for details of how to become an LCA member.

All poster presenters will have the opportunity to take part in our best poster competition. If you're interesting in taking part, please indicate it when submitting your abstract in EasyChair.

abstract submission

Abstracts, written in English, should be between 600 and 700 words (plus any references) and should provide the following:
- the category of presentation you intend to present: “Full Paper”, “WiP”, “Corpus/software demonstration” OR “Poster”;
- clearly articulated research question(s) and its/their relevance;
- the most important details about research approach, data and methods;
- the main results and their interpretation.

To facilitate the review process, please copy your abstract and paste it in the Abstract field in Easychair. No file should be uploaded. Do not include your name or affiliation in the abstract. Abstracts should be submitted via EasyChair by 3 February 2022 23 January 2022.
