SLAVISTICS

Specialized studies in the field of Slavic languages, literatures and cultures, with reference to Russian, Czech, Polish, Serbian and Croatian [BCMS] and Slovenian language areas. At the university of Padua, boasting a hundred-year-old solid Slavic tradition, PhD students will mature critical views and develop methodological skills necessary to study individual Slavic area languages and literatures or to analyze their phenomena according to a comparative approach. Research activity may converge on linguistic, literary and cultural phenomena peculiar to the medieval, modern and contemporary periods, both in synchronic and diachronic perspective.
Emphasis is placed on 20th-century and contemporary studies along with in-depth analysis of the poetics of literary genres.
